Sunset on a Lake 5"x6" oil

A very large lake with nice views of the mountains and hills in the Tennessee Valley. I used a cad. yellow as a ground color to begin.
This sketch is painted on a gessoed 100% rag illustration board. I like the hard, slick surface but the gesso, absorbing the oils will take a little getting used to.

I love your light, color, and value. I love your brushstrokes. All of it is really beautiful in all of your works. Your statement, which is something like, "I paint because I love it," or something like that, says it all. It's obvious. You paint beautifully. BB Lancton
